Site Rules

No god-moding.
I'm sure anyone who joins here will know what this means, but I'll go over it anyway. This means you can't control another person's character, or physically touch him or her in a post without giving him or her a chance to react. This is annoying as well as banned on most RP sites. There can be some exceptions, if both characters agree to it by PM, e-mail, cbox chat, whatever. It's not like we as the admins are going to call you on it. Your RP is completely your business. However, if someone complains about a god-moder, we will give said offender a little talk.
And (also see Mary Sue rule), don't make your character act like God. Don't read people's minds (unless your character can do that), and don't be completely invincible and immune to everything. Let someone hit you once in a while, you can't always win.

Wait for your profile to be accepted before you start RPing.
If there is something wrong with your profile, such as your title/position doesn't make any sense, or your character has some feature that doesn't fit in with the species guidelines, then you can't start RPing until you fix it. If you read the plot and rules beforehand, you should be accepted right away. Simple as that. There will almost always be one admin online at least once a day to accept profiles. If you want to post your profile during our school hours, be prepared to wait. If you're going to post at 3am on a week day, be prepared to wait. Depending on what kind of profile requests we receive, this rule may be changed or taken out.

Post length must be: at least one relatively long paragraph.
This is a literate forum; we don't want any one-liners. More than one paragraph is preferred. I won't set a limit on the maximum post length, but keep it within reason, okay? No lengthy paragraphs regarding the floating tresses of your character's radiant hair. Which brings us to:

Tone it down with the Mary-Sues/Larry Stus/Gothic Sues etc
I understand that yes, vampires ARE incredibly good-looking, and usually have pretty comfortable lives. We just don't want to hear you go on about it. So yes, if your character does have great hair, you can mention it once in a while, but don't go on and on. And if you as a person read the other person's post and they are plotting against you… If they don't give an outward sign or hint, don't pretend you know everything all the time. And if you're in a fight, let somebody hit you once in a while. It wouldn't kill you to have your character be less than perfect. As for gothic sues… the ones whose mother died and their father abused them and then also died, the ones who cut themselves every night and fantasize about suicide, the ones who are afraid to make friends because every friend they've ever had has betrayed them… WE DON'T WANT YOU. It's okay to have a sad past, or have a sad event happen, but we don't want constant doom and gloom.

Use proper spelling and grammar.
Goes without saying, really. Use the spell-check AND grammar-check on Word if you must. Though if you have some mistakes a mod will probably clean them up after you. Just don't make us work harder than necessary. Also, use third person at all times. No I, we, or me.

Swearing is allowed.
Yes, if you must. Don't abuse the privilege. It will be taken away.

M RPs are not allowed.
Really, you wouldn't expect to be able to do anything like that in an Insane Asylum, why would you do it here?

Cloning/liquid time is allowed.
Meaning, you can be in more than one thread at a time, as long as the two don't conflict. You might want to think things through carefully if you're going into another thread.

Use open, closed, or private.
If you are starting an open-ended RP where anyone can jump in at any time, put (Open) after the thread name. If you're finished with a thread, whoever started it can go back and modify the thread name, putting (Closed) after it instead of whatever was there. If you want to RP with one specific person or a set of specific people, put their characters' names as well as yours in place of (Open).

One character per account
Within reason, of course. If you have a spouse you can register him or her with your NPCs in your profile. You don't need to make two accounts for close people you RP with all the time. If you want twins, you can have them on the same account. Stuff like that.

Try to keep it to four characters/accounts per person.
That means you could in theory have one of each species, PLUS one more. If you really want more characters ask us, we may or may not say yes. Also, do note, we will keep track of this. Though you may think using different emails is smart, I can see your IP adresses.

Please be patient when waiting for people to post. Especially in 3-person or more RPs.
Establish a posting order for 3+ character RPs. If one person honestly has nothing to say, then they can let the others know and their turn can be skipped. Otherwise, don't leave a person behind just because they weren't online when the others were. And be patient... People, try to log on and post at least once a day. If you can't, then okay try extra hard the next day lol. If you know you're going to be gone for a while, post on the Absence board.

Special thanks to Infinity for her Rules, with slight adjustments.
(Though you'll all think we're stealing this from Life Blood RP, Infinity is the Main Admin, and I'm also an Admin.)
